본 연구는 계량경제기법인 이산형 선택실험법을 통해 PC방 서비스스케이프를 구성하는 속성에 대한 이용객의 선호 구조를 파악하는데 목적이 있다. PC방 이용 경험이 있는 우리나라 국민을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시한 본 연구의 결과에 따르면, 응답자들은 ‘PC방 내부 소음’과 ‘초미세먼지 농도’ 속성에 상대적으로 높은 중요도를 부여했다. 또 응답자들은 좌석 간격이 1m 늘어날수록 471원에 이르는 이용요금을 지불하겠다는 의지를 나타냈다. 분석 결과를 토대로 PC방 이용객의 만족을 극대화할 수 있는 운영 전략을 제시했다.
Using a discrete choice experiment, this study intended to better understand PC cafe users’ servicescape preferences. Data were collected from PC cafe users using an online survey collaborated by a South Korean marketing research firm. Study results from a random parameter logit model estimation suggested that respondents put relatively heavier importance on the attributes of ‘noise’ and ‘fine particles’. Respondents showed their willingness to pay KRW 471 when one more meter was added to separate their seats. Based on study results, different management strategies were discussed to maximize PC cafe users’ satisfaction.
